Hammer for Hope - 2nd Annual Ag Shed Building Challenge

The 2nd Annual Hammer for Hope took place on Thursday, October 3. Thirteen teams from the Ag industry picked up hammers to build sheds for Habitat homeowners.

In addition to volunteering their time, the companies also contributed or fundraised a minimum of $2,500 to participate. Kudos to team G.J. Vis Enterprises for fundraising $4,050! The event raised over $36,500 towards Habitat's general Build program. Special thanks to the Copa Banquet and Conference Centre for donating an amazing lunch!

Construction Supervisor Walter Geddert was thrilled that all teams completed their sheds and that the quality was exceptional. Judging was based on quality and speed and it was difficult for the construction leadership to select a winning team. Team Roundup from Monsanto was ultimately awarded the Hammer for Hope Championship Trophy. The Canola Crew from the Canadian Canola Growers Association won the Best Team Spirit Award.
