Hat's Off to You!

Garden Party Fashion Show

Delta Winnipeg Ballroom hosted the second annual 'Garden Party Fashion Show' on Sunday April 29th. The event hosted about 175 guests from girls to grandmothers who enjoyed an afternoon of tasteful fashions and a delicious light lunch. The event was emceed by the entertaining Chrissy Troy and included many fabulous auction prizes. Attendees learned more about affordable home ownership and what it has meant to Nicole, a Habitat Homeowner, and her family.

The event raised almost $13,000 with all proceeds going to Habitat for Humanity Women Build. With help from our sponsors, supporters, and volunteers, Habitat for Humanity Manitoba can build safe, decent and affordable homes for purchase by low-income working families.

Thanks to the organizing committee, the contributing local fashion boutiques and our generous sponsors and supporters for making the Garden Party Fashion Show a big success!

Hammer for Hope Shed Build

The Hammer for Hope Shed Build challenged office teams to venture away from their desk jobs and out to a build site by putting their teamwork and handyman skills to the test. Twelve teams came out May 24th for a full day of building sporting their work boots and hard hats with hammers at the ready to compete for the Hammer of Hope Championship. The team that could complete the build and produce the best quality shed won the challenge.

All teams in attendance worked hard on their sheds and did an excellent job. However, at the end of the day, it was Team Canola from the Canadian Canola Growers Association who came out on top.

A close second with their loud cheers, group hugs, and start on a second shed was Cargill's Hammer Time. Hammer Time received the Hammer for Hope Team Spirit award.
